You have successfully cleared your SharePoint config cache at this point.You don’t really need this old file anymore but I like to keep it for a while in an unlikely event that I have some issues with the SharePoint config cache. Copy this new cache.ini file to something like and rename the original backup (cache – Copy.ini) to.It is likely to be a different 5-6 digit number than it was before. Verify that the value in the cache.ini file is no longer 1.If you, for example, mistype the recipients address in the To: field and send your email, your message will bounce back as 'undeliverable. The cache – Copy.ini will become your backup file. You can either copy and paste it in the same folder. First make a backup of the cache.ini file. Your goal is to delete all the files, except the cache.ini.

As a best practice, I recommend displaying hidden files on all Windows servers. The Program Data folder is hidden by default so you may have to unhide it in the File Explorer. Go to %SystemDrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\SharePoint\Config folder in File Explorer.
